Beauty & Celebs

Here are some last minute gifts for the lovely lady who gave you life. They will arrive tomorrow.

We’re all here for the summer of The Bronzing Drop. What are they, how do you use them, and what are the best ones?

Here is what our cultural representatives wore to the Met Gala.

I’m sure you know by now that our favoritest Hailey Bieber is having a Biebay.

Watch 5 Latina artists including Kali Uchis, talk about how being a mother impacts their work.

Want an excuse to have oysters tonight? They help your hair health. And if you’re strengthening your hair, this is my favorite hair oil for summer. The scent is chefs kiss.

I’m in my highlighter era and I love this Rare Beauty Liquid Light Luminizer Highlight, Effortless Bronzer Sticks, and this Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20. Highlighter sticks have been such a game changer.

What’s so great about our Olinda oil-based cleanser?

Zendaya’s stylist has fighting words for the luxury fashion brands like Chanel and Gucci that refused to dress Zendaya when she was first breaking out in Hollywood.

Just because something lathers, that doesn’t mean it isn’t working. That’s an abuela tall tale.  Oil-based cleansers dissolves makeup, sunscreen and oil without stripping the skin too much of its oils, they remove grime better than some water-based cleanser, and can even help oily skin. They often have nourishing ingredients, which can help hydrate the skin. I know after going oil-based cleanser I will never go back to a regular cleanser, especially for my sensitive skin. My skin feels smooth and balanced, whereas soap made it feel dry. Our Olinda oil based cleanser is just what you need to make the switch to oil cleansers. Your abuelita’s naps should be your go-to way to boost energy without caffeine.

What makes the perfect morning routine?

Your juicy Impossible Burger may soon be contraband. Florida is banning lab-grown meat. Other states may be next.

Sometimes your beautiful, soothing hobby resonates with other people and you end up creating a community and full time business quite by accident. Isn’t that always the goal! That’s what happened to Crystal Peralta-Martinez, who created her Sunday Mornings Shop after starting to hand embroider for self-care and stress busting in 2016. She realized that a lot of other amigas loved embroidery too and so a major community and online shop was born. Her website is full of gorgeous embroidery kits, like the Queen of Hearts Kit. We also love her staff members, Minnie, Daisy and Diego (her office pooches full of smooches!).

Lets get to know her hand-sown señora routine:

Crystal Peralta-Martinez. CEO, Sunday Mornings Shop

  1. Whats your ultimate señora tip, maybe something you learned from your mom, grandma or even great grandmother

Unfortunately my mother passed when I was 5 so the words of wisdom never quite stuck.

  2. What’s your morning routine after getting out of bed?

    6:40am - alarm goes off

6:45-7 - scroll through e-mails to erase spam, catch up on any tasks needed to be handled early AM.

7-7:10am - let the dogs out and get their breakfast set up

7:10-7:40am - change and fix hair for the office

7:45 - pack lunch and head out to the office

  3. What 3 wellness or self-comfort products are you using now to get ready for the day?

My contoured foam pillow has been a game changer for my sleep routine. Keeping my face hydrated in this dry Arizona heat with Dieux Air Angel Gel Cream has definitely been a daily staple in my routine. Last but not least, my 30oz Stanley Cup is my constant reminder to get my water intake.

  4. On a perfect day, what’s your favorite lunchtime meal?

I am not one that enjoys repeating meals on a routine, so on a perfect day, I would have something new and fresh. Currently I am dreaming of a mediterranean bowl so that would be my favorite meal at the moment.

  5. What are your favorite caffeine or caffeine alternatives to keep up your energy?

Iced coffee and matcha are the ways to my heart - in typical Hispanic fashion I was given coffee in a bottle starting at a very young age. So, coffee has always been a part of my daily routine and caffeine intake.

  6. What’s your favorite tip to wind down? Do you like walks, like to garden, have tea?

Embroidery! This has been my safe-haven for relaxation and unwinding on those busy mental load days.

  7. Do you take supplements or powders and if so, which ones?

At the moment the only supplements I am taking are pre-natal vitamins :)

  8. Do you workout, do yoga, go for walks? If so, whats your current routine?

At the moment my routine in life has been getting rearranged - I try to go to Remedy Pilates once a week and supplement mini workouts on the weekends when I am not teaching workshops.

  9. What’s your evening routine like?

Return from the office around 5:30, greet the pups and give them dinner. Prepare dinner and relax on the couch while choosing the movie for the night to spend some lounge time with my husband.
